The multicentric and multidisciplinary nature of the DBM offer a broad coverage of current research fields in molecular medicine, which include:

The research is mostly experimental and the participating groups are internationally recognized in their respective fields. Collaborations between different components of the Doctoral board, and the involvement of external researchers as co-supervisors, ensure many instances of trans-disciplinary interactions. Collaborations with clinical institutions and biotechnology companies also offer the opportunity to develop translational research projects.
