The PhD programme has an innovative structure, which includes various types of training activities.
Students have the opportunity to participate in many different courses, aimed at developing critical thinking and reflection through action and interaction. Lectures provided by the doctoral teaching body are accompanied by numerous thematic seminars in which national and international researchers and experts examine theoretical approaches and practical experiences in detail. Teaching staff also offer intensive project laboratories (workshops) within the scope of research activities, allowing students to apply their knowledge to specific themes and contexts, and to come into direct contact with public administrations, territorial stakeholders and economic actors.
Lectures, seminars and workshops focus both on topics specific to each curriculum and on multidisciplinary research areas so as to create a programme that is as personalised, flexible and as transdisciplinary as possible. To this end, some activities are co-organised and co-promoted by teaching staff and doctoral students participating in the course. This PhD programme builds and nurtures exchanges with other international universities in order to promote student mobility, including through seminars and workshops.
The calendar of activities is updated annually to reflect the topics researched by doctoral students to allow them to deepen different areas of interest within their fields of study. Educational activities are carried out in English and, if all participants are Italian, also in Italian.
